Singleton & Smart Ltd has been appointed as the main contractor for a new extension and refurbishment project at Park Community Academy in Blackpool, following approval from Blackpool Council.

Singleton & Smart Ltd Appointed as Main Contractor for Park Community Academy Extension and Refurbishment

The project will include the construction of a two-storey extension and the comprehensive refurbishment of the existing Stables block, alongside improvements to the surrounding outdoor space at the school’s Whitegate Drive campus, part of the Sea View Trust. The development forms part of a wider investment programme to enhance educational facilities and support the delivery of high-quality learning opportunities.

Working in partnership with Cassidy+Ashton Architects, Building Surveyors & Town Planners, Singleton & Smart will deliver a 900 sq ft extension to The Stables building. The scheme will provide additional classrooms and breakout spaces, a new entrance area, improved ramp access, and the reconfiguration of the existing playground to complement the new layout and enhance accessibility.

Park Community Academy provides education for pupils aged 2–19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The new facilities will create modern, fully accessible learning environments that support the learning, development and wellbeing of students.

Alan Mylecraine, CEO of Singleton & Smart Ltd, said:

"“Singleton & Smart is proud to have been appointed to deliver this important project for Park Community Academy. Developing high-quality, inclusive learning environments is vital to supporting the needs of pupils and staff, and we are pleased to be working alongside Cassidy + Ashton and the wider project team to enhance the facilities at the school. We look forward to delivering a scheme that will make a lasting positive difference for the pupils and staff.”"
