Existing Site & Constraints
The original swimming pool building was centrally located within the resort, adjacent to active guest accommodation and public walkways, creating significant logistical and safety constraints.
Demolition & Enabling Works
Controlled demolition was undertaken using specialist plant, with strict segregation and exclusion zones to protect guests, staff, and adjacent buildings within the live holiday village.
Superstructure – Structural Steel Frame
A new structural steel frame was erected to form the primary structure of the swimming pool building, coordinated carefully around live access routes.
Roof Structure & Temporary Protection
Roof works progressed alongside the installation of temporary safety measures, including debris netting, to protect operatives and surrounding occupied areas.
Mechanical, Electrical & Ventilation Installations
Extensive mechanical and ventilation plant was installed to control humidity and air quality within the pool hall, supported by a full electrical upgrade.
External Envelope – Cladding & Glazing
The new external envelope was completed using modern insulated cladding panels and glazing systems, providing a contemporary appearance and improved thermal performance.
Final Outcome
The completed £622,000 project was delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard within a 24-week programme, enhancing the leisure facilities at Cromer Country Club.
